It is almost unheard of in the corporate world to move forward without a vision statement—a vividly written statement of direction and desired outcome. Are we to borrow a page from the world’s handbook? No. But could it be the world has grasped a Biblical concept that has eluded the body of Christ. No, we are never to borrow anything from the world. But we should act on what the Word of God calls us to do.
2 And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it
plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak,
and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it
will not tarry. Hab 2:2-3 (KJV)
I like the way the New Living Testament says it:
“Write my answer plainly on tablets,
so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
3 This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.
Hab 2:2-3 (NLT)
What are the areas of your natural leanings and talents? They are probably directing the paths you should be pursuing. What are the dreams, desires and thoughts that are impossible for you to put out of your mind? Determine what these things are and write them down. Don’t just pick up a pen and start scribbling. This requires a coming aside and consulting with the Lord—separating your natural thoughts from His plan for you. This requires being quiet and being still long enough to hear what thus saith the Lord. This is a crucial and essential step for you to move toward destiny—that place where you will uncover your perfect path, perfect place, and perfect peace.
Write the vision and wait for the appointed time for God to bring it to pass; because it will surely come. That’s what I say. What say you?
Very nice post, very correct and timely. Proverb 29:18 (Amplified) says, where there is no vision the people perish.
Look around at today’s society, it’s obvious to say there is not much vision…

The Lord gave me a vison and even told me to act on as though it is in the natural. This was hard for me because it requires me to step out in faith.

This Hab 2:2-3 instruction is one of my favorites from the Lord. It keeps you focused and stable. It makes you compare and compete with yourself instead of looking at the competition and comparing your progress with others.
It comes with a guarantee that the vision is on the way with an appointed time to show up… so that means one thing sisters: GET BUSY preparing for it so it doesn’t catch you off guard and you are not ready! We are to be a wise virgin with a lamp that is FULL of oil.

This talk of appointed time and waiting time bring me to a close watch of Hab2:2-3.
I think it is better to prepare or use the down time, when God has not assigned us any duty yet to fully prepare and wait.
